Barren Island

The Barren Island Volcano trip is nothing short of surreal. Highly recommended by us, it’s one of the rarest experiences you can have in the Andaman Islands. You’ll begin with an early morning Havelock and Neil cruise booking, and travel nearly five hours across shimmering waters to witness the only active volcano in Southeast Asia.

Barren Island is wild and dramatic; its black slopes smoldering softly under the sun, often releasing curls of smoke that remind you just how alive our planet really is. While landing isn’t permitted, boats circle close enough for incredible views. And just offshore, untouched coral reefs offer some of the clearest snorkeling in the region. Few things match the thrill of swimming beside a sleeping giant.
